Feeder School - SWNY - CANCELLED due to low registrations

Join CCE and PRO-DAIRY for a Feeder School on November 9th. This hands-on in-person program will bring Cornell and Industry experts to cover essential cow nutrition and ingredient management, on-farm sampling, and dry matter testing, among others. Everyone is welcome to participate, and this program will focus on skills for managers or employees that work directly with farm feed management. We will offer English & Spanish stations so we can accommodate everyone in one training! We are waiting for you there!

The Northeast Grazing and Livestock Conference

New this year, Northeast grazing-focused organizations, including Maine Grass Farmers Network, Granite State Grazers, The Livestock Institute, Vermont Grass Farmers Association and the Cornell Cooperative Extension Capital Agriculture & Horticulture Program (hosts of Winter Greenup NY), are hosting a region-wide grazing conference.

The 2023 Northeast Grazing and Livestock Conference is the largest of its kind in New England, gathering over 300 participants from the northeast for two days of networking and educational workshops. Dr. Allen Williams will keynote the conference with a two-hour discussion on adaptive grazing. Additional programming will feature peer to peer farmer networking and practical implementation of managed grazing practices.

Navigating HPAI in Cattle: What Dairy Farmers Need to Know

Join NMPF and the National Dairy FARM Program for a webinar discussing highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in dairy cattle, offering the most up-to-date information on the rapidly evolving animal health issue. The session will include updates from USDA about their investigation, as well as an on-the-ground report from a field veterinarian working with affected cows. The session will also explore the virus's transmission, the significance of reporting infected animals, and identification and treatment protocols. Practical strategies to safeguard the health of dairy cattle via biosecurity measures will also be discussed.
