Protecting the Flock from Highly Contagious Diseases

  • Tall waterhemp and marestail are two weeds that are resistant to glyphosate and ALS herbicide modes of action in the WNY and Finger Lakes regions.
  • Each year the number of acres with resistant weed populations expands.
  • For herbicides to be an effective tool in weed management, we have to know what chemistries & application timings are most effective against these resistant weeds.

An in-person Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) training will be hosted by Chautauqua County and Butternut Brook Livestock on Saturday, October 24th from 10:00am - 3:00pm. This training will consist of a lecture followed by a chute-side demonstration. Butternut Brook Livestock looks forward to hosting fellow beef producers for this Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Training and will share how they manage their beef herd.
