Richard Stup, PhD, of Cornell Agricultural Workforce Development and Rob Lynch, DVM, of Cornell CALS PRO-DAIRY will be presenting via webinar on steps dairy farms can take to protect employees, animals, and develop disaster contingency plans. Additional topics include what to do if service providers are not available, cross-training of employees who can fill other roles, business resources for employers, and pending federal and state legislation related to coronavirus and employees. Over the past three years, Cornell Cooperative Extension has worked with nearly 40 small farmers across NYS to gather information on the true costs of raising broilers (meat chickens) on pasture. This presentation is a summary of the findings of this research project.
