This meeting is targeted at both experienced and new farm workers who are spreading manure & operating trucks and agricultural equipment in fields and on highways.

11:30: Jim Carrabba from NYCAMH and Keith Gillette from OSHA discuss in-house safety training options.

1:00: Richard Curtin and Mark Knaul from NYSDOT and Lt. Karl Altmann from Cortland County Sherriff's dept. cover highway safety issues.
2:30: Jeff Griswold from Town Highway departments cover local road care and regulations.

Over the past three years, Cornell Cooperative Extension has worked with nearly 40 small farmers across NYS to gather information on the true costs of raising broilers (meat chickens) on pasture. This presentation is a summary of the findings of this research project.
