Animal Mortality Composting Demo

Join us as we demonstrate the proper ways to run your animal mortality compost pile. We will share how to:
•Properly site and design a pad
•Select materials to construct a bioactive pile
•Add livestock to the pile
•Evaluate pile success
•Identify common pitfalls to proper composting
•Available opportunities to get assistance with designing and constructing pads and piles.
This event is free and registration is required.

Amy Barkley and Rachel Moody, Livestock Specialists with Cornell Cooperative Extension, will take attendees through the why, how, and interpretation of fecal egg count testing for sheep and goats using the McMaster method.
