Farmer's Market and Meat Marketing Workshop

The Cornell Agriculture Marketing Research Program (CAMRP) announces a NEW series of farm marketing workshops around the state. CAMRP manages MeatSuite.com and the Farmers Market Research Project (farmersmarketresearch.cornell.edu). The marketing series focuses on how farmers selling directly to consumers can benefit from new tools, resources, and teaching on the topics of marketing and pricing for the upcoming 2025 market season.
Each evening, the workshop will cover two topics. Both topics apply to livestock producers selling meat directly to consumers while the second part of the evening will also appeal to dairy, egg, fruit, and vegetable producers and those selling any farm product at a farmers market.
Beginning at 6:00 PM
Part 1: Creating and Pricing Consumer-friendly Meat with MeatSuite. In this session we will cover an introduction to MeatSuite. Then we'll share how to make bulk meat sales more approachable for first-time buyers including a demonstration of MeatSuite's newest tool, Bundle Builder. Bundle Builder allows you to easily assemble "bulk bundles" and set prices.
7:00 A light dinner is served. You are welcome to leave if you only want to join part 1, join us if you only want to join part 2, or stay for both sessions.
Beginning at 7:30
Part 2: Farmers Market Sales Data: Using the Customer Experience and Pricing to Improve Market Sales Performance. In this session we will cover the results of Cornell research on customer spending and prices at farmers markets. Learn practical ways to increase customer spending and daily sales. This session is appropriate for farms selling, fruit & vegetables, meat, dairy, and eggs as well as other farm products.
Cost: The program costs $10/farm (up to 2 people). Additional individuals are $5 each.

2025 Cornell Food Beverage & Animal Feed Manufacturer Survey
December 19, 2025
Industry and Educational Advocates for New York State's Food, Beverage, and Animal Feed Manufacturing industries:
As you know, NYS has a diverse food and beverage manufacturing industry, in both the types of industries that exist and the wide distribution of firms by scale. Many manufacturing firms have strong backward linkages to agricultural production sectors in the state that support both farm-level and downstream food industry firms and consumers. In collaboration with the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, a team from Cornell University's Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management has recently rolled out the 2025 New York State Food, Beverage, and Animal Feed Manufacturer Survey. The industry will benefit from an updated assessment of the industry that informs private and public investments and opportunities to support firm growth and improved profitability.
