NEFX Farmer Training
When: Friday, February 28th 5:00pm-7:00pm

What: Hudson Valley Textile Project and PRO-LIVESTOCK Small Ruminant Program will be hosting an event for Northeast Fiber Exchange
Cost: FREE
Certification Training: All farmers must participate in the certification training in order to sell to the NEFX Program. At this time the program will be accepting the following fiber types: Wool, Mohair, Alpaca, & Llama. Training will cover skirting and quality requirements, as well as best practices for quality fiber on the farm. All interested farmers are welcome.
Attendees will receive a free ASI "Code of Practice" book
(one per farm)
Individual Registration for each attendee is required
Light Refreshments will be provided

Join Joshua Greene, Director of Education at Trees For Graziers, Jonathan Bates, Statewide Agroforestry Educator, and Lynn Bliven, owner of Wild Geese Farm for a full day training event that will include classroom and hands-on sessions. The focus will be on DIY silvopasture projects on small grazing farms. We will address the practical considerations of tree establishment, protection, and maintenance while learning how silvopasture can help address your farm's resource concerns and enhance livestock grazing.
