The United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is hosting a free webinar called "Preventing Avian Influenza Introductions: Focus on the Big Risks" on September 23, 2021 from 2:30‐3:30PM ET.

Dr. Julie Gauthier, DVM, is the Assistant Director for Poultry Health and Veterinary Medical Officer for USDA APHIS. She also serves as a Veterinary Preventive Medicine Officer in the US Army Reserve. Dr. Gauthier holds an MPH in Epidemiology from the Yale School of Public Health and earned her DVM from Michigan State University.
Dr. Carol Cardona is the Pomeroy Chair in Avian Health for the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Cardona also serves as co-director/co-principal investigator of the Minnesota Center of Excellence for Influenza Research and Surveillance at the University.
Dr. Tim Boyer, Ph.D., is a biological scientist with the Center for Epidemiology and Animal Health in the USDA APHIS. In that role, Dr. Boyer has assisted with epidemiologic investigations of Avian Influenza and virulent Newcastle disease to identify risk factors for introduction and spread.
