Seeking Participants for Pastured Broiler Cost of Production Study

Do you raise pastured broilers as a farm enterprise? Are you curious about your true costs of production and ways to improve efficiency? Want to know how your costs of production compare to farms across the state? Our team was just awarded a grant to look at just that!

We are currently seeking participants in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, and Steuben counties who grow slow growth or conventional broilers. Farmers will need to produce at least two batches of a minimum of 50 broilers annually over two consecutive years to be considered for the project. Farmers will be compensated for their time. We are looking for participants for the 2023/2024 cohort. The project will begin in April. While we are looking for slow growth broiler producers in particular, all broiler producers are welcome and all will be considered.
