Bovine Reproduction and A.I. Training Course in English
September 26 - September 27, 2016
During the last week of September we will be offering a Bovine Reproduction & Artificial Insemination Training Course in collaboration of Genex Cooperative, Inc. This two-day class will be offered once in Spanish and once in English.
This course is an excellent opportunity for farmers and employees who are interested in learning the important points of artificial insemination. Jonna Egli and Abraham Cohen of Genex will be teaching the class. While the course will offer as much hands-on practice as possible, it's important to note that it is a beginner's course meant to teach the basics of artificial insemination. Participants should expect to practice inseminating cows on a regular basis in order to become proficient.
Topics covered will include:
- Bovine Anatomy
- Reproductive Physiology
- Synchronization Protocols
- Heat Detection
- Artificial Insemination Technique
- Proper Thawing of Semen
- Loading A.I. Guns
- Practice Breeding Cows
