Organic Dairy & Crop Producer's Discussion Group

Join us for Lunch at noon followed by discussion & farmstead tour from 1:00-3:00 PM

This is an opportunity to get together and talk about the crop season and share successes and challenges in your cropping programs. Ed and Eileen Sheffler will start the discussion with an overview of their dairy farm and supplemental enterprises including an oil press for biodiesel production, grain storage and farm store for farm raised milk, meat, eggs and excess garden produce. They are self sufficient with grains-corn and soybean. We can look at nearby fields. Crop rotation, crop choice, weed control and fertility strategies will be highlighted. Looking forward to seeing you. Come prepared to share your crop production practices.

Co-hosted by New York Soil Health and Cornell CALS, the annual conference brings together leaders in organic grain, dairy, and livestock systems to share practical tools, new research, and farmer-tested strategies to support resilient and profitable organic production.
