Winter Dairy Management

2016 Winter Dairy Management will focus around Transition Cows, including Nutrition, Animal Behavior and Environmental Considerations and Cow-side Care and Decision Making.  

Nutrition Topics include:
Far-off, close-up and fresh cow nutrition
Animal Behavior and Environmental Considerations Topics include:
Cow needs at calving vs what she gets, facility considerations, moving/grouping strategies, tie stall considerations
Cow-side Care and Decision Making Topics:
New tools for monitoring - cow side tests, ID/rumination monitoring, physical exams, vaccine protocols, calving intervention, employee training and protocols

Registration will begin at 10 am, program will run from 10:30-3pm at CCE Broome County.  Lunch will be included in the cost of registration.
