2015 Feed Dealer Seminar

This Feed Dealer Seminar is specifically targeted for nutritionists, veterinarians, other consultants, extension educators, and dairy producers with specific interest in nutrition-oriented topics. It is designed to blend the latest concepts in feeding and other management aspects of dairies with field level application. It has been conducted annually as a road show with multiple sites in New York since the late 1940's.

Speakers:
  • Dr. Thomas Overton, Professor of Dairy Management, Cornell University
  • Dr. Luiz Ferraretto, Postdoctoral Research Associate, Miner Institute
Topics:
  • Current topics in transition cow nutrition and management
    • Management of hypocalcemia, fresh cow feeding strategies, and monitoring of transition cow programs
  • Strategies to improve the nutritive value of corn silage
    • kernel processing, shredlage, hybrids, maturity at harvest, and ensiling time
