Sheep & Goat Hay Workshop

October 26, 2015


Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Cortland County and the South Central NY Dairy & Field Crops Team of CCE will be offering a Sheep and Goat Hay Workshop hosted by Lilley's Tack and Feed at 15 Livermore Road in Dryden, NY on October 26, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Refreshments and registration will begin at 5:30 pm.
This free event will cover topics ranging from basic sheep and goat nutritional needs and how hay fits in to the nutritional package, common forage species, identification and their fit in sheep and goat diets, the economics of hay production and evaluation of hay crop. Participants are encouraged to bring a sample of their own hay for evaluation.
Speakers include Sammi Clark, Territory Sales Manager with Kent Nutrition Group, Janice Degni, Forage Specialist with the SCNY Dairy & Field Crops Team of CCE, and Heather Birdsall, Livestock Specialist with CCE of Cortland County.
