Host

Southwest New York Dairy, Livestock and Field Crops Program

Amy Barkley, Livestock Specialist with Cornell Cooperative Extension's Southwest New York Dairy, Livestock & Field Crops Program (SWNYDLFC) will be teaching a series of fecal egg count mobile workshops for those who are interested in the internal parasite challenges affecting sheep, goats, llamas, and alpacas. Internal parasites are one of the most challenging and economically impactful concerns for small ruminant and camelid producers. This workshop will explain how and why regularly testing fecal egg counts can help you with understanding your animals' parasite loads and dewormer resistance. Attendees will have the opportunity to prepare and evaluate fresh fecal samples under the microscope and practice interpretations.

These events are free of charge and registration is required. To register, visit https://apps.ideal-logic.com/cornellcoop or reach out to Amy Barkley at 716-640-0844 or amb544@cornell.edu.

This work is supported by the Northeast Extension Risk Management project award no. 2024-70027-42540, from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
