12:30 - Optional Tour of Alfred State College Livestock Facilities

Lunch - Beef on Weck, pasta salad, chips, brownies and soda/bottled water.

1 PM - 4:30 PM Guest Speakers: 

  • Jeff Hostetter, Product Manager with Select Sires & 
  • Dr. Chase Thut from Perry Vet - General Veterinary Topics common to our area.
  • Business meeting - election of officers, overview of what's happen in NYBPA, brief discussion on program ideas for 2025/2026.

The cost of the program is $15 per person for adults, $5 for youth 10 and under. Pay at the door.

Pre-reservations for the meeting requested by March 14th to assist with lunch planning.

Over the past three years, Cornell Cooperative Extension has worked with nearly 40 small farmers across NYS to gather information on the true costs of raising broilers (meat chickens) on pasture. This presentation is a summary of the findings of this research project.
