The Gathering of Good Graziers Conference will be held January 25th-27th, 2024 at UMass in Amherst, MA. We will be face to face for the first time since the pandemic!

We are delighted to announce that Mark Schatzker: author of "Steak", "Dorito Effect" & "End of Craving" will keynote the conference. He will share nuggets of wisdom he has gained since publishing Steak and give everyone a taste of his new book, End of Craving. The conference will also include workshops by regional grazing experts (Cheryl Cesario, Troy Bishopp, Daiman Meeh, Meghan Giroux, Abe Collins ...) as well as practical farmer panels on all topics grazing!

Although we are thrilled to gather in-person again, the conference will be a hybrid event which will allow us to meet people where they are at - literally. Folks can join us face to face or from the comfort of their own home. Choose your own adventure! Register now for an early bird discount until Jan 5th - Use Code GGGEARLYBIRD at Check Out.

Check out the full conference schedule and registration here.

Finally, are you looking for funding to attend the conference? With generous support from our funders, we are pleased to be able to offer scholarships. Please fill out this form to apply by January 5th, 2024.

We expect a gathering of farmers and service providers from across New England and New York. This conference is formerly known as the Northeast Grazing and Livestock Conference.

NY Small Farms Summit 2025: Stronger Together

December 5, 2025
Alfred, NY

We hope you will join us on December 5th for the 2025 New York Small Farms Summit! This is an opportunity to meet other farmers and ag supporters, learn about research and education projects, and set priorities for future efforts to grow small farm success.

At the Allegany County site, we will focus on giving trees a chance and how trees build resiliency on small farms. Whether attracted to fruit, nuts, vegetables, fodder or shade, trees can be an integral part of a successful farming system. Join us as we explore the opportunities for resiliency that come from adding tree crops or managing wooded areas of your farm for agroforestry or silvopasture systems.
