5:30 pm - Social Hour & Visit with Vendors

6:00 pm - Buffet Dinner $25 per person (payable at the door)

All with an interest in cattle are welcome to attend this informational meeting. Membership in these beef producer groups is not required to attend.

Following the buffet dinner, a short business meeting will kick-off the evening including the election of officers. Guest speakers will share timely information providing participants Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) re-certification credits.


Jerry Rusch, DVM, will give a presentation on the Advantages of using Multimin® 90.
Dr. Rusch is a part time technical service veterinarian for Axiota Animal Health and regularly
speaks to veterinarians, veterinary students, farmers & ranchers, and other groups on
various topics of beef cattle production medicine and herd health. Dr. Rusch is a graduate of
Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine and a diplomate of the American Board of
Veterinary Practitioners in Beef Cattle. He and his wife, Dr. Karen, recently sold their mixed
animal practice in Southern Indiana. Dr. Rusch was raised on a grain and livestock farm in
southern Indiana.

Cow Calving Model: A demonstration of a new calving/dystocia model will be presented with information on managing
calving issues presented by Shannon Carpenter, DVM, NYS Department of Ag & Markets, Division of Animal Industry and
Katelyn Card, DVM, KRC Veterinary Services, Jamestown NY. Meeting participants will have an opportunity to practice
with the calving/dystocia model to improve their knowledge and skills with calving.

  • There will be a drawing for a complimentary NYS Beef Producer membership for anyone in attendance who is not currently a member. Membership forms will also be available. 
  • Door prize drawings will be held and a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Chautauqua County Beef Producers' Association. 
  • Re-certification credits for Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) will be provided.
