This series of 3 workshops will start with:

Week 1: Thursday, February 20 from 10:00am - Noon at CCE Genesee
  • Introduction to Precision Agriculture
  • Components of Precision Ag Equipment
  • Agricultural management philosophy

Week 2: Friday, March 6 from 10:00am - Noon at CCE Genesee
  • Precision soil sampling vs. grid sampling
  • Soil electric conductivity (EC) and how to measure It
  • Site specific management and variable rate applications
  • Principles of mapping and its importance to PA

Week 3: Friday, March 27, 2020 from 10:00am - Noon at CCE Genesee
  • Introduction to NDVI
  • Economics of using Precision Agriculture
  • Methodology and evaluation Precision Agriculture

Over the past three years, Cornell Cooperative Extension has worked with nearly 40 small farmers across NYS to gather information on the true costs of raising broilers (meat chickens) on pasture. This presentation is a summary of the findings of this research project.
