March 15: Quantifying Nutrient Balances and GHG Emissions From Your Dairy Register here.
The Nutrient Management Spear Program has worked with around 40 NYS dairy farms to develop whole farm nutrient mass balances (NMBs) using the Cornell NMB calculator and GHG footprint estimate using Cool Farm Tool. The team will:
- Show how with a limited amount of farm data both nutrient and GHG footprints can be determined.
- Share preliminary findings from this work.
- Provide information inviting additional dairy farms to join the project.

March 22: Reducing GHG Emissions From Your Dairy: Funding Programs and Energy Efficiency Opportunities Register here.
In support of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act and other policy goals, NYS is providing funds to cost share practices to reduce GHG emissions from dairy farms. This session will be divided between Ag and Markets funding programs (Albrecht) and NYSERDA's ag energy audit program and related energy efficiency and renewable energy funding through USDA programs (Ray).
