This meeting targets experienced and new farm workers and ag service contractors operating trucks and ag equipment while applying manure and harvesting crops. There will be CAFO training credits available for farms that need them. This meeting will be held live and in person.
 
9:00 am Registration with Coffee & Donuts, Cortland SWCD, and South Central Dairy and Field Crops Team
 
9:30 am  Manure Applicator Training (DEC certificates) and real-life scenarios - preventing runoff and water quality impairments, and DEC Solid Waste Updates - Manure Applicator registration and Livestock Mortality Management 
Presented by Matt Kazmierski, NYSDEC and Kirsten Workman, Cornell PRODAIRY
 
11:00 am   NY P-Index 2.0  - How to maximize manure applications and BMPs to maintain flexibility in manure allocations across the farm; records required for P-Index compliance and implementation. Presented by Patty Larkin, Director ACS (Ag Consulting Services)
 
11:30 am   NYCAMH Personal Safety.  Presented by Jim Carrabba, Agricultural Safety Specialist, NY Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health, Bassett Healthcare Network
 
Noon -  Lunch is $10 per person, payable at the lunch line.
 
1:00-2:30  Highway Safety Topics with Matthew Peck, retired NYSP Commercial Vehicle Unit, USDOT and Mark Helms, Cortland County Sherriff will cover truck DOT and highway safety and regulations with trucks and agricultural equipment.
