In order to qualify for DEC credits you must pre-register and:
1. Provide your applicator ID number with your registration in the NOTE TO US section.
2. On the day of the event you will be required to attend the virtual meeting using your own device, even if you are in the same location as another viewer. You may log-in as early as 9:15am.
3. At the beginning of the event, sign-in once with your full name and pesticide license number using the DEC sign-in link that will be posted in the chat box (again, on your own device that you are using to attend the event). At the end of the event you will be required to sign-out once using the DEC sign-out link in the chat box. To receive points for this event, you must log in at the beginning and log out at the end. If you do not log-in and out of the DEC check-in/out link, you will not be eligible to receive points.

9:30 - 10:00 Soybean and Small Grain Disease Update and Management Options (30 minutes) - Dr. Gary Bergstrom, Cornell University SIPS Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology
Dr. Bergstrom will discuss disease identification and management for small grains in NY state.
10:00 - 10:30 Soybean and Small Grain Insect Pest Management (30 minutes) - Ken Wise, New York State Integrated Pest Management
Mr. Wise will discuss the NY state monitoring program for invasive insect pests in soybeans, and will give an update on management strategies for insect pests of small grains.
10:30 - 11:00 Supporting On-Farm Experimentation with Digital Agronomy (30 minutes) - Dr. Louis Longchamps, Cornell University SIPS Soil and Crop Sciences
Dr. Longchamps discusses how digital technology is used to help growers make more informed management decisions.
11:-00 - 11:30 Effective Control of Marestail in soybean (30 minutes) - Mike Hunter, CCE-North Country Regional Ag Team
Mr. Hunter will outline effective strategies to manage herbicide-resistant marestail in soybean.
11:30 - 12:00 Field Crop Weed Science: Future Research Plans and NY Needs (30 minutes) - Dr. Vipan Kumar, Cornell University SIPS Soil and Crop Sciences
Dr. Kumar, our newest Field Crops faculty member, introduces his program and his work on herbicide resistant weeds.
