Feeding Cows with $5 Corn and $450 Soybean Meal

April 12, 2021

Our next monthly webinar will take place on Monday, April 12 at noon (Central time). Mike Hutjens from the University of Illinois will present "Feeding cows with $5 corn and $450 soybean meal."

Feed costs per pound of dry matter are rising as corn and soybean meal prices climb, squeezing farmers' profit margins. Strategies to improve ration economics while maintaining milk yield will be discussed. Options include adjusting the level of starch and protein fed or looking at alternative ingredients.

The webinar is sponsored by Kuhn.
