NOFA-NY 2021 Winter Conference

Organic farming is rooted in health - of the soil, the farmer, and the community. And health is the foundation of resilience. The 2021 NOFA-NY conference theme, Rooted in Resilience, reflects the ability of organic systems to embrace challenges: no matter whether it's a global pandemic, unprecedented weather, a new pest, or the loss of an important market.

For nearly four decades, the NOFA-NY conference has convened farmers, homesteaders, soil scientists, seedkeepers, and ag-vocates to work together and learn from one another. The mutual support and the generous exchange of knowledge is a hallmark of the NOFA-NY community. And now, we've seen the power of the that: our CSAs, farmers markets, and local co-ops have been models of food security throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Our conference is an opportunity to leverage that power and learn directly from the experts: you!

One registration = 90+ workshops and events!

This year, the conference will feature more than 100 farmers, gardeners, homesteaders, and advocates to learn from. NOFA-NY is fortunate to be able to source the most knowledgeable farmers and educators around - pulling from the 1,000+ farms we certify in addition to many other organizations.

  • Workshops sessions and discussion groups generally occur five times a day at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm ET over the course of eight days.
  • Sessions are between 60 and 90 minutes long.

Purpose of Program

Attractive dairy farms give the consumer greater confidence in the wholesomeness of milk and stimulate milk sales which encourages public support of the dairy industry. The award gives recognition to the dairy farmer for maintaining a well-kept farmstead. 

Virtual Egg Count Training for Sheep and Goats

April 23, 2026 : Virtual Fecal Egg Count Training for Sheep and Goats

Amy Barkley and Rachel Moody, Livestock Specialists with Cornell Cooperative Extension, will take attendees through the why, how, and interpretation of fecal egg count testing for sheep and goats using the McMaster method.
