Grazing & Forage Season Extension Webinar Series: Summer Annuals

May 29, 2020

This webinar will discuss warm-season annuals suitable for grazing or stored forage as an alternative to traditional hay, pasture, or silage. This includes species-specific information, planting times, management, feed considerations, and associated environmental benefits. Our speaker is Caleb Goossen, Ph.D., an organic crop and conservation specialist with the Maine Organic Farming and Gardeners Association.

This is the first webinar in a six-part webinar series that will cover several strategies for grazing season extension and alternative forage production. The series is a collaboration among UMass Extension, UVM Extension, & UMaine Extension, and is supported in part by a Northeast SARE Research and Education Grant with organization and administration supported by the Livestock Institute of Southern New England with the support of the Cedar Tree Foundation. For any questions about the series, please contact Sam Corcoran at sglazecorcor@umass.edu
