Grazing & Forage Season Extension Webinar Series: Summer Annuals

This webinar will discuss warm-season annuals suitable for grazing or stored forage as an alternative to traditional hay, pasture, or silage. This includes species-specific information, planting times, management, feed considerations, and associated environmental benefits. Our speaker is Caleb Goossen, Ph.D., an organic crop and conservation specialist with the Maine Organic Farming and Gardeners Association.

This is the first webinar in a six-part webinar series that will cover several strategies for grazing season extension and alternative forage production. The series is a collaboration among UMass Extension, UVM Extension, & UMaine Extension, and is supported in part by a Northeast SARE Research and Education Grant with organization and administration supported by the Livestock Institute of Southern New England with the support of the Cedar Tree Foundation. Our two forms of publications feature research-based and timely information from our four specialists, listed to the right, along with local event notifications and Cornell University outreach. This information is provided to participants who range from dairy, livestock and field crops producers to agricultural suppliers and consultants.

Monthly Paper Mailer: To reach our stakeholders and farmers who lack internet access, we send out a monthly mailer where your company's logo and contact information would be featured with a mailing list of 330+ households.
